In Oregon it's ILLEGAL to pump gas into your own car. Oregon requires you to sit in your car, wait for an attendant to greet you, pay the attendant, and then the attendant fills up your car. Crazy right?! Well the fines are crazier. If your caught by an "offical" pumping your gas into your car you get slammed with a $3000 fine. What's worse is that the gas station you were buying from gets a $30,000 fine all to pump gas. The reason behind the law JOBS. This law made it so the many gas stations around the state would have to beef up employment. So those who aren't as educated and you or I can obtain a simple job that requires little to no training.
